Picture Update

A story in Pictures!

Beginning at Needle Roll - Inside - I made this Needle Roll for Pomegranate from the Knitty Boards in exchange for some cotton yarn.

Next Up - the outside of the roll - imagine bright yellow ribbon to tie it together. This photo was taken prior to completion.

Next up, we have some awesome stitch makers that Pomegranate included in her trade! WOW - totally unexpected and totally cool (except I forgot to set the "T")

The yarn is next in our Show Case, Bob, and due to the flash and bad lighting, appears blue rather than bright teal/turquise color that it really is. It is destined to become reverse bloom washclothes for various women in my family.

Finally, just because I am sooo glad that I remembered how to do it, is a drawstring bag made from some really cool fabric. It will most likely be a gift bag for a little girl with a B-day party next Saturday. I'm thinking of making her a version of the needle roll for markers - or an apron for makers - I'll post pics when I'm done with it!

Leaf Detail Posted by Hello

Thank you Knitty SP3!

We heart NYC

It has taken us a while to get the camera to work and to get the photo posted, but my super-d-duper SP3 sent us a family set of T's! AND, the USPS delivered them on a SUNDAY!!! How freakin' cool is that! (I was a little freaked out when the doorbell rang as I was getting dressed for Church!) Thank you SP! We love them!

A pair of FOs! Posted by Hello

Here is that pair of FO's I mentioned a while back. They are made from one skein of superwash merino in WaterLillies from Axelle at Two Pointy Sticks. I received two skeins as a gift from my SP3, Jen. Before you bombard Axelle, I must let you know that the Merino has been discontinued - now for a moment of silence -

OK - that was long enough - go check out her other offerings!

Have you ever tried . . .

To take a picture of your own ankle? OK - a GOOD picture of your own ankle? Its hard I tell ya! I did get pictures of my PAIR of FO's this morning. Then I ran off and forgot my camera at home.

This hasn't been a really good morning - both DH and Mack are home sick. Mack has a fever and a stuffy head (sinus infection, sez Dr. Mom) while DH has a horrible cough with a rib that isn't cooperating - as in its bulging from his sternum. It hurts so bad that he begged to see the Dr. They will be squeezing him in this afternoon.

We were supposed to have family pictures done this evening - but I've cancelled that. We will instead do them on 2/26. I decided to wear my new clothes to work anyway! I'm the mom and I can do that! This is what I got: One of THESE in dewey leaf and a ribbed cotton/spandex cardigan to match. (I'd link a picture - but doesn't have them up yet.)

And as a bonus question, if you are so inclined, tell me what your plans are for Monkey Love Day

  • Since Monkey Love Day is on a Monday, most plans are hampered by my Monday Work Madness - payroll! If at the end of the day, I don't have a hair pulling headache, then perhaps I will get out the 3 items mentioned above for some monkey lovin', otherwise - An aleve and a pepsi and I'm putting myself to bed - right after CSI Miami.

Actual Knitting Content - sans photos

I've had to take a break from Knitting to work on house buying stuff. But that is mostly cleared up and now I can knit again, especially when DH is at work on the weekends. I think I will institute a house cleaning until 11am and then knitting rule, though. Otherwise, I'd sit in bed and knit all day with carpets that need vacuumed.

Sockapalooza - I now have both needles, yarn and pattern. I'll be doing maple leafs in Knit Picks Sock Landscapes, New England Foilage (bottom of page). The color is actually much brighter than what appears on my screen. I hope to start these on Friday.

Kiri - has been put on hold. I just don't seem to have the time without interuptions that is needed right now. I will make her, I promise!

Knitty SP3 - I've got a small package sent to her. I hope that she gets it before Monday as it is valenite related.

YarnNinja - sure! Hang out. I don't mind at all. I was born and raised here, so if you need to know something, let me know! I know my way around these parts pretty good!

Another Pic from the past

Granma - 1948 Posted by Hello

This is my Granma. She is still a feisty young thing! And don't try to tell her otherwise! Its hard for me to look at this picture and even see my Granma in it. To me, it looks like my aunts in my childhood. Granma in my memory has white hair - always has. She didn't go grey - she went white! I hope that I go WHITE too.

Some of those promised pictures

My Granpa - 1948 Posted by Hello

This is my Granpa, from about 1948. He passed away when I was nearly 12, so I only have faint memories of him. I remember him as a clown for the Lions Club, as my Grandpa who thought that I could do no wrong, as a strong man of the community. I know from looking through old albums with my Granma that he has numerous commendations from past presidents, governors, and mayors.

I still miss him.
