This post is for Monkee. My "Why I love the Mother Road" essay if you will.

Why I love the Mother Road.

Yes, this is Rt. 66, I took this pic while driving back to work from lunch.

The Mother Road is my favorite road because I can eat at places like the Metro Diner on this road.

The Metro Diner has the BEST breakfast for not a whole lotta money! The sign there reads "Elvis eats here"

I also like the Mother Road because in or not too far from Tulsa you can see things like these:

A Big Blue Whale - in OKLAHOMA!

and
The Admiral Twin, a double sided drive-in. The best prices in town. 6.50 for an adult, 2.00 for kids and you CAN bring your own food! And its ALWAYS a double feature!

This is the wall around my old school - painted with really cool pics of all the states on the Mother Road.

Also - a lot of my all time favorite movie, The Outsiders, was filmed on or near Rt 66.

BUT, the number one reason I love the Mother Road is: It takes me home from work EVERY DAY!

PS - I also love I-35 because, come September, it will take me to meet Monkee!

I haven't posted in a month and a half - so, what will distract you enough not to make snide comments?

Will it be a super cute baby sweater?

Pattern: Modified Sirdar pattern
Yarn: 1 skein (yes, only 1) Nature Spun in a lovely spring green
Needles: size 3 straights and size 6 addi
Intended: not sure yet, my boys say its too girlie for a boy!

Or will it be cute boys?

Notice the newly shaved heads! We do this every summer and the boys love it.

Or will it by MY new hair?

I do this about every two years - I whack it off, donate it, and grow it back out. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Memorial Day (one day late)

If you know me at all, you'll remember me talking of a memorial garden that displays any and all servicemen's flags for the Memorial Day Weekend. And I told you that when BOTH of the boys were in Scouts, we would begin participating in the removal of the flags on Memorial Day. Yesterday, there were 2,379 flags flown in memory of fallen servicemen. Some dating back to WWI, others as recent as Desert Storm.

This is last year's picture. They knew I was taking it.

And this is this year's picture. They had no clue that I took this one until I had them printed at Wal-mart after the ceremonies.

Here they are actually folding a flag. The flags being flown for the first time are folded military style, while all others are folded laundry style. Volunteers at the garden launder, repair and store the flags for next year.

One Skein Knit a Long

I've signed up for some many -alongs and swaps that my head is spinning! One-Skein is just one of them, but I thought I'd post my answers to a questionairre here as well as by email.

1. Which yarn is most like your personality (you can be specific or general with your answer- brand, type, color, fiber, whatever)?
a. Hmmm – most like my personality? This is a very hard question. I'm going to have to say that I'd be more like a basic wool in an ash-grey. I am shy and reserved until known, and then I can be a supporting agent, or I can pop out in high contrast.
2. What is your favorite color yarn to knit/crochet with?
a. I love most any color except for Yellow. I'm drawn to the orange/pinks or blue/purple/green families.
3. Have you ever used variegated, or magic, yarns?
a. Yes, and I love them! Koigu, w/ its short repeats is my favorite (almost no pooling) for non-socks, with any of the sock yarns that stripe running a close second!
4. Do you tend to favor certain fibers when choosing yarns?
a. I do a lot of gift-knitting, so I think of the recipient when choosing yarn. Babies and children get cotton or acrylic, Grown-up women get alpaca or wool.
5. Do you prefer to work with center-pull or traditionally wound balls of yarn?
a. Center pull yarn cakes! I love the ball winder and I'll have a swift soon.
6. Have you ever worked with organic yarns or are you interested in trying them?
a. I'm not opposed to organic yarns, but I've never set out to specifically use organic yarns. I think all yarns have their pros and cons in their ecological roles today.
7. How many and what projects have you made in the last year?
a. A pair of socks counts twice, right? OK, a pair of socks, a couple of spiral baby blankets, a square to contribute to another blanket, a Kiri Shawl, and a ton of fish.
8. Will you be knitting any gifts this year?
a. Yes, Mom, Mother-in-Law, Sisters-in-law, something for the kids and something for DH. DH is getting an ear-flap hat, son #1 is getting a hat from tiger sock yarn, the rest are unplanned.
9. What is your favorite one skein project?
a. My old time favorite is the garter washcloth. But I can also squeeze a small pair of socks from a single ball of yarn too!
10. How much yarn do you have in your stash and how do you store it?
a. The husband will tell you I have too much, but I'd tell you not enough. I currently have enough for two sweaters and then many spare/one skeins.
11. Do you have a yarn in your stash that you love so much you can never
use it or part with it?
a. I have yarns that I loved enough to buy, but they haven't told me what they want to be yet. I'm not scared of using any of it, just waiting for the right pattern!
12. Do you knit less or differently in the summer?
a. I do smaller projects for increased portability, and things in cotton or linen to counteract the humidity.
13. Do you belong to any knitting groups (online or offline)?
a. Knitty (tm) Chat, Knitty (tm) Coffeeshop and a local Sit n Stitch

More details tomorrow! OK, so its not really tomorrow, more like "next week" but still. Here are the details of this little beauty. This is really a swatch done in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. The pattern is a cable that makes Xs and Os and therefore I call it Hugs n Kisses. I want to do an entire blanket/throw in this pattern! I'm going to be on the lookout for something superwash and on a cone to minimize ends.

This is my version of tesselated fish. It is NOT the Knitters Magazine version. DO NOT copy this pattern to any other site, even if you give me credit.

A recipe for Fish

I used size 8 addi turbos and worsted weight wool. (LB Fishermans, Lamb's Pride, Unkown, Doubled Sock Merino)

For larger Fish, use larger wool and needles. For smaller fish, smaller wool and needles.

From this point forward – slip the first stitch purlwise. Trust me, you'll appreciate this when its time to seam!

The lovely Mr John Zink and his family's love of nature and conservation, and the Scouts, our boys got to go camping for a weekend without any other cubs. It was just us - on our own for entertainment and activities. And we survived!

This is Son#2 - the Webelo I, faking a passout. It was really warm this past weekend, and the boys were playing hard! The structure behind him is called The Landship, its a large, 3-story, structure that resembles a boat, it has a "steering" wheel and a flag mast - neither of which worked, mind you. The boys played Jack Sparrow for hours!

Later in the day we played water tag, this gave the boys a good chance to cool of and just play. Son #2, currently a Scout Buddy, can't wait to finish kindergarten to sign up as a Tiger.

There is a burn ban on in Oklahoma, so all food was cold prep only. Each family provided enough food for their family w/ the idea of sharing. We took for lunch turkey and cheese sandwiches, and for dinner we had taco salad. Breakfast was pop-tarts. Snacks were fresh fruit and granola bars.

While the boys did table activites (tying knots, drawing maps), I did this

I don't think this photo shows how red or swollen I really am. Trust me when I say, "Buy new sunscreen EVERY YEAR!" The one I was using was 30, and just purchased in August, but I think it didn't work!

I know - you are coming here looking for my Stash Flashing. But do not worry! It will happen! There were some unforseen circumstances that caused me to delay flashing. Number 1 - New camera w/ Macro is being aquired for the event! Number 2, and most important, DH will be out of town ALL WEEK! so I can really pull it all out and organize it!

Oh my Maude! Things have been just a bit crazy at Chez April lateley.

This will mostly be a photo update.

First up = Branching out - take 3. Knit in doubled laceweight hand-painted by NoNoKitty.

This would be my favorite chair in the whole wide world. You will notice the curve of the back and the slant. It looks really UNcomfortable, but its not! It is the most comfortable chair in the whole wide world! And, its been in my Gran's house since forever!

And this (if you can see it) was taken thru my windshield, but hopefully shows why when there is a fire ban, you don't flick lit ciggarettes out the window!

Ok -- so you can't see it that well, but if you embiggen it, you will see a strip of hay, that is where the fire stopped. This particular fire threatened horses, cows, and did destroy an entire barn full of hay.

Alerievay and I are designing blankets with the trees from this sweater as the center panel. Mine will be a baby blanket for a boy, her is (I believe) a wedding gift. I've decided on this edging - and I've even swatched how to do it in the round (square)!

You'll see in my list below that one of the things I want to do in 2006 is take a trip. My husband and I have been married 10 years and have NEVER been on a trip together - no honeymoon, no vacation with kids - Nothing.

This is going to be the year. Santa is in on the planning - he brought a portable DVD player for each boy - they hang on the back of the headrests and let Mom & Dad travel in peace. Let me tell you - our 1.5 hour raod trip to Grandma & Grandpa's house on Christmas day was the quietest trip EVER!

And as some of you may know - and all of you do now, we are a scouting family. Son 1 is a Webelo, son 2 can't wait to finish kindergarten so he can be a Tiger, and husband and I are both leaders. So, it came as a HUGE surprise when "I" recieved an invitation to attend Philmont Training Center in New Mexico.

New Mexico was not on the Radar! Husband and I were thinking maybe a really long weekend to Ft. Collins, CO to see a Brother and Sister-in-law, or to Dallas to do Six Flags, or to Houston to see some friends - real and imaginary internet, or Nashville to see family - but not New Mexico!

Now, New Mexico is a HUGE blip on our Radar. Fort Collins will still work, both coming and going. The cost is not too bad - $400 per person - plus drive, eating on the road and spenging money. Oh, and the equipment list - I've glanced at it, but need to look it over further. We're just beginning a fundraiser too - so now we have a goal, lets hope we can meet it!

My Lists for 2006

I do believe she gave me permission with the following: I do hope you'll make a list, not so much Resolutions as goals and hopes and your own To-Do and To-Don't pile for the coming year. May your list be bulleted and bold! Or numbered and small. It does not matter. To list is to live. To list online is to live out loud!
May you ... list long and prosper.

My 2006 List of TO-DOs and TO-DON'Ts

Money Things:
• Bring lunch to work a lot
• Cut trips to grocery store down to 1 per week instead of the nightly "Nothing at home sounds good maybe a trip through the drive through will help..."
• Deposit money into savings account each paycheck.
• Stop buying stuff that I don't need.
• Balance Check Book monthly – stop with the guessing.
• Cook more – your kids like your cooking and its hi-time they learn some kitchen skills too

The Size Of My Ass:
• Do Pilates at least 3 times per week
• Eat healthier stuff
• Eat vegetables.
• Drink more water.
• Get clothes that fit and flatter

Personal Good Stuff:
• Every day, choose happy over sad, free over constrained, liberated over abandoned, and laugh a lot. Wake up the next day and repeat.
• Plant a garden and tend to it all season – enjoy eating the fruits and vegetables of my labors with my children
• Go on a trip. (Ft. Collins, Dallas, Houston, Who knows - JUST GO!)
• Stop procrastinating. Just stop it already.
• Moisturize.
• Floss.
• Play mini-golf
• Host a dinner party in which I actually cook dinner
• Do something fun on my birthday. Even if I'm broke due to sons birthdays.
• Play "Clean Sweep" in each room at least one room per month

Practical:
• Up contribution to the 401(k) plan
• Get new heat and air system at home (may cut out the trip)
• Schedule vacation time.
• Work hard. Make deadlines a day early.
• Look at all the options.
• Have a positive attitude. Especially at work and with all co-workers. Suit up, show up and act as if....
• Send thank-you notes

Knitting:
• Finish the niecelings sweaters
o one cast on (1/3 done) black-diamond
o one in yarn – not sure of pattern yet
• Make the fingerless gloves so that my hands will stay warm during the chilly "I sit by the front door that everyone walks through" winter
• Make Eris for me
• Finish son's Gryffendor scarf
• Begin any Christmas Knitting early so as to impress teachers
• Make something for Son's Kindergarten teacher (Kiri or Flowerbasket)

Finally... The Not-To-Do List:
• Don't say "yes" to things just because someone springs them on me at the last minute. Instead, say "Let me think about it and get back to you."
• Time is sparse, life if short. Don't waste it on useless things, people, memories, obligations.
• Don't worry about stuff I can't change anyway.
• Don't expect other people to live by my values.
• Don't compromise my values for anyone.
• Don't choose the known over the unknown just because it's comfortable.
• Don't waste time on stupid stuff or mean stuff. Frequently ask myself "Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?"
• Don't minimize success.

I know - its way after Christmas, but I've swatched my Christmas present of 15 balls of Elann's Peruvian Aran in Atlantis for the making of Eris. There is my swatch. I did this one on size 8 addis and have a guage of 4.25 stitches to an inch, and 6 rows. I need 5x8. I've got size 7 and 6 addis on the way.

I also have SP gifties to photograph, so expect another post before July!

OK, it has been exactly a month since I last posted - and what do I have to show for it? Nadda, nothing, zip, zilch!

I have been asked by a very adorable, yet often annoying, pair of boys to make them hats and mittens - so the black diamond sweater will rest at its current state of back piece finished with front piece started for the time being.

I will be making these hats from KnitScene with some Wool of the Andes and sock yarn held together for the rag look.

And the gracious Kate Gilbert has gifted the world with Gifted. So they will be the mittens. These may be done in the solid.

I'm gathering my wool supply tonight to take inventory. Will cast on shortly thereafter!

I've finished Trellis! Woo Hoo! Only 3 days late (and still without buttons, but its done! This is a gift for my Neice Chloe.

Details:

Started - September, 2005
Finished - November 4, 2005

Next up is a sweater for another neice - Emily. Emily's daddy and her uncles went to Sallisaw High School - the mascot is Black Diamonds (coal!). This sweater will have a large diamond on the back, and will be big enough for her to wear for several years. After her daddy finishes college, he hopes to coach for the Black Diamonds.

On Fridays all this month, I'll be answering phones for Toys 4 Tots. My church will distribute toys to 2,000 children this year, all on one day! When I left church on Friday, 265 children had signed up since Tuesday. I hope to take pics of the mountains of toys that come in and some of the Marines too!

OK, I've blogged enough from work today - so I gotta run!

April's No Good, Very Bad Week

This has been the week from H E Double Hockey Sticks! Some of it my own fault, much of it the fault of the local electric company.

I have not been able to knit a single stich on Trellis sinse last Sunday. I NEED to finish this sweater by Monday so that I can start another - I need to make 3 by Christmas.

I also want to knit a couple Branching Out scarves for Christmas - and something extra for my boss.

I have a birthday party for two this weekend.

I want to take a good, long nap.

Trellis

I am in love with the sweater! I want to work on it every moment so that I can see it completed. This is the first real cable-work that I've done, and I consider it practice for my Eris.

Here is the back:

I'm on to the two pieces of the front - I'm knitting them at the same time, so I hope that I can remember to add the button holes at the right time! I'll do the sleeves at the same time too.

If I have enough yarn (and I think I will), a matching baby coronet is planned to go with the sweater. Its a Christmas gift for my niece.

OK, so over at Danielle's blog, I correctly guessed what she was working on. And then I just had to run my big mouth and tell her that I was making one too - only I don't have any pictures!

OK, but here are the Details! We are both making KIRI, from All Tangled Up. She, of course, is using her own yarn. (Its gorgeous - check it out!) While I am using handpainted lace in lettuce.

I completed 8 repeats of the main chart, and I've finished the 2nd row of the edge chart - so expect a FO picture next week.

Also - that handpaintedyarn.com yarn? I will have a ton left over, so may make a second Kiri!

Blog for Relief

To help get the word out about what WE as a family are doing to help Hurricane Katrina victims, I've joined the Blog for Relief.

If you are a parent, please sit with your children and explain what is going on, and then use this time to teach them the importance of giving.

My sons will be building Gift Boxes for Feed the Children's Kid Stuff USA. We are going to combine the lists from the School Days Box and the Holiday Box.

My oldest has even said he would give up his birthday money.

Ok, so that is a very lame post title, but what can I say?

See this kid: Last Saturday was his 9th birthday. When DID THIS HAPPEN? I mean, 9 years ago I gave birth to a baby, 5 weeks premature! He was originally due October 2nd. I was told he would always be smaller than the other kids. That was true for the first year, but he is now at least a head taller than the boys in his class and the same height as the girls. I was told that he probably shouldn't start kindergarten when he is 5, but rather wait until he was 6. Uh, Don't think so! In the 4th grade, he is reading on 6th grade levels!

Because of extenuating family circumstances (DH without a job and an Aunt's memorial service ON his Birthday) he won't have a party with his friends until October. Is he upset? I've not heard one peep from him! He said he can wait to have his party, and he can have it the same time as his brother's.

How cool of a kid did I get???

Rainy days and Mondays

So, its Monday, and its rained now for two days! And it is still way overcast for August.

I've not swatched for Eris yet, but I have some WOTA from Knitpicks that I'm going to try before I place an order.

I need to work on a needle roll, and create my prototype for a circular needle holder.

OK, I haven't wanted to be here because of the depressing post I left last time I was here. So, Lets Move IT!

With my meager lunch allowance of $6.00, I purchased this beauty: Eris.

Isn't she pretty? I will need serious hand-holding through this pattern. It will be a first sweater, first cables (celtic at that!), and if I go with the cardigan - a first zipper

I'm hoping that I can talk mom into getting me the yarn for my birthday, if not, I'll be saving my lunch money for a long time!

Well, its been another 5 days, and its just blahs. I don't have the heart to cruise the blogs, cause I'll just want what I can't have. DH was let go from his job on Thursday, and while we are praying its by Devine intervention, I still have that ball in the pit of my stomach. I'm praying that he gets the job he really wants, the one he applied for/briefly interviewed for this morning, but that can take weeks to determine.

Oh my goodness! The things that have happened in the last five days!

I made a skirt - I'll try to get pictures of it up soon. It was very easy, and I only messed up a few times. But I learned from them and hubby has already said that I can buy more fabric. Also - my boys want to learn to sew. I'm going to be looking for an easy pattern for them to start with.

I haven't finished a thing knit-wise. I've got a ton on the needles!

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has some amazing knits in it. I LOVE the afgahn you can see behind Grandpa Bucket as seen here.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was a fantastic read. I'll re-read it more slowly after DH finishes it.

At Church, we're working on expanding our nursery! We have beds for 12 babies and lately we've just been overflowing! Some of the babies we have don't need beds any longer, we've tagged them as crawlers, but the crawler room is full to busting too, so we can't move them up. And there are more on the way in the next few months - 4 that I know of.

We're also doing a Back-Yard Bible Club (am I a yarn-nerd if I misspell yard as yarn?) at a huge low-income apartment complex this week. That makes tonight my last night at home all week!

Can you say BUSY??? Oh Well, I love it! Even if it does hamper my exercise time.

In the spirit of Secret Pal/Back-Tack/etc, I was wanting to set up a seasonal, one item required, secret swapy-thing.

Here is what I'm thinking rule-wise:

All items must fit in a USPS priority mail box #O-1096S (this is a small VHS-ish sized box)

Item should ship by a certain date (by the schedule)

Participant list will be limited to 100 per season

The "THEMES" that I'm thinking of:

Fall - Ship by 9/15
warm woolies - arm warmers, headbands, one-skein wonders (small things that can be knit with one skein)

Winter - Ship by 11/15
Holiday - Christmas knitting for the knitter (stocking stuffers!)

Spring - Ship by 3/15

Avenue of Flags

I just found this picture on our little-bitty memory card (holds all of 8 pics). The location is Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Tulsa/Broken Arrow. The staff and volunteers at the Garden put up servicemen's flags that have been donated just for this purpose. The boys and I have infant cousins buried in the Garden of Angels, so to give my boys an understanding - we decorate their gravesite. We then walk around to read the names on the flags leading back to our car. The Civil Air Patrol Cadets do a mock Changing of the Guards that the boys like to watch. Next Year, I will have pictures of my two Scouts folding these same flags for retirement.

Thanks for the support everyone, it means a LOT! This is the first pattern that I ever wrote and I did it on my own! I'll keep you all informed of my progress, and perhaps I'll show pictures along the way too! (small and inconclusive tho!)

Yippee! That means that the week is half over. And considering that its a short week to begin with - GLORIOUS!! (can you hear the Angels singing?)

Tomorrow, there shall be photos! I need to weave in the ends on my Spiral baby blanket and block it for its photo shoot, so it may not make it in time - I'll try.

I want to make another spiral soon! I loved it!

I have a question now -

If I create entirely new patterns from patterns that I created from inspiration, how far back do I owe credit?

I know - I'm so horribly bad at keeping this updated!

Just a quick rundown -

Loop - Fabulous store with all of the yarn brands you would expect to find in a yarn store located at Utica Square. The atmosphere is cozy, and child friendly. The hours for now leave a lot to be desired - no evenings yet. I will shop there when I can afford the good stuff.

Anniversary - DH and I celebrate 10 years on the 16th, so we're having a party! I'll take lots of pictures - I promise!

Kristel's socks - are inching closer to the toe! btw - did I tell you that I started to decrease once - so that they would end up fitting me? Yeah, I wear a size 6US - so I had to rip back!

The Baby Spiral is about 2 feet across (guessing here) but I need another size 8 addi so that I can work on two needles. The blanket is too bunchy for my taste.

The fish blanket - I've started the 3rd color - so I now have 13 fish completed.

Everybody - don't forget to wear sunscreen when you're getting drunk on the lake and TRY to remember the reason for this 3-day-weekend, K?!?!?!

Ok, not really a holiday, but I have the day off - so it is a holiday to ME! I'm going to a NEW YARN STORE! And I'm taking the boys - because they have a KIDS AREA!!! Woo HOOO!

Blue Bell Ice Cream - I'm also going here on Friday. They really do honor the "eat all you can and sell the rest" motto! If they let us take pictures, I'll share them.

Next - On Father's Day, June 19 so you don't forget, I'm getting a new dad! My mom has found the most amazing guy to finish her life with and they'll get married on Father's Day. In her words - he might be the 3rd, but he's definately the last!

I'm going to work the tail of the sixth fish in all of the DB colors that I have with my Two Pointy Sticks Superwash Merino in the Waterlilies Color. Not quite as soft as the Cashmerino, but I am on "A NEW KIND OF YARN DIET DIET" and therefore can't go buy more! That is the number that we need to know on August 31. That number, less the number we know on 8/31 is the amount I get to spend on yarn on 9/1. Thats right, its a yarn diet - $1 for each pound + $5 for each (comfortable)pant size. Current is 14.

Chelsea - I did get my package! Thank you so much! We've not done the prints yet, but will do them on Saturday if its sunny enough, or on Sunday at Granny's Birthday Party - I think she's 78 this year.

Yesterday, at about 4:30 CDT (I hate the D), the storms rolled in. You know its spring in Oklahoma when the hail stones are compared to golf balls and little tents pop up on every available parking lot offering "Paintless Dent Repair."

It took us an extra 10 minutes to get home, and once we got there - it hadn't even RAINED. I live DUE EAST of my office, the Storm was moving DUE EAST, but started moving north before hitting my house! Yeah!

Kristel - I'm working on the socks! I spent most of last night trying to watch NCIS between weather breaks, and knit away. I'm doing the gusset decreases. It seems like I'm taking forever (to me) but then I remember that I am doing two at once! So when I do finish - I will be finished!

Picture one - Any Guesses? Its a journal for the little girl that had the birthday about 3 weeks ago (and got the fabric bag as her wrapping!) And her mother - Oh, I love her! As they were opening the gift, made sure to point out that it was A VERY SPECIAL HAND MADE GIFT!

Picture two - shows the colored pencils in the journal - I sewed the channels too close, so there is only a pencil in every other slot. I've made note of this and improved the "guys" version for C - Mack's Best Friend.

Doesn't anyone come here and update this thing? Oh, wait - that is my job. Well, since I've died this week (wait - not dead yet), things are slow going! It seems that son number 2 had a Systemic Ear Infection. This is the one who has had tubes since he was 13 months old. The dr. thought that perhaps he has mono, but it seems that the Zithromax (ha - lelujah!) is working is miraculous wonders on his ear and his throat.

I have numerous photos to take this weekend to post for your viewing pleasure what great Secret Pals and RAOKers I have!

I need to work on a (mock)ruffles scarf for this Saturday. I'm to the binding off (400+ stitches!). I still need to complete my sockapalooza socks (I'm sorry Kristel!). I still want a KIRI shawl. I need to do a knit-up and evaluation for Toni.

Oh, yeah, and there are two Easter egg hunts this weekend that I will be at. One of which is indoors (thank goodnes), but the other? Don't know what she has planned for that one! And we go to two church services beginning on Easter, which means I now have to be there at 8:45 instead of 9:30 and its going to be COLD so I don't want to wear my new clothes (that I've been wearing anyway!)

A story in Pictures!

Beginning at Needle Roll - Inside - I made this Needle Roll for Pomegranate from the Knitty Boards in exchange for some cotton yarn.

Next Up - the outside of the roll - imagine bright yellow ribbon to tie it together. This photo was taken prior to completion.

Next up, we have some awesome stitch makers that Pomegranate included in her trade! WOW - totally unexpected and totally cool (except I forgot to set the "T")

The yarn is next in our Show Case, Bob, and due to the flash and bad lighting, appears blue rather than bright teal/turquise color that it really is. It is destined to become reverse bloom washclothes for various women in my family.

Finally, just because I am sooo glad that I remembered how to do it, is a drawstring bag made from some really cool fabric. It will most likely be a gift bag for a little girl with a B-day party next Saturday. I'm thinking of making her a version of the needle roll for markers - or an apron for makers - I'll post pics when I'm done with it!

We heart NYC

It has taken us a while to get the camera to work and to get the photo posted, but my super-d-duper SP3 sent us a family set of T's! AND, the USPS delivered them on a SUNDAY!!! How freakin' cool is that! (I was a little freaked out when the doorbell rang as I was getting dressed for Church!) Thank you SP! We love them!
